Who Volunteers?

Volunteers are individuals who care enough to reach out beyond their normal work and responsibilities in order to use their skills and energy to make a positive difference in the cause of their choice. Canadians have a rich history of volunteering and altruistic community involvement. From soup kitchens and fire departments to food banks and fundraisers volunteers strengthen the fabric of our society!

CMHA Simon Fraser Branch currently has about 40 volunteers without whom we would not be able to maintain the level or variety of  services currently offered.

Volunteering at CMHA Simon Fraser Branch offers you:

    • The opportunity to meet new people
    • The opportunity to learn or practice new or maintain familiar skills
    • The opportunity to make a contribution to worthwhile cause
    • Responsibility for results
    • References for future employers or other non profit agencies
    • Experience in the field

Current volunteer positions available

    • Internship/Volunteer Openings
    • Thrift store workers: discovering treasures, sorting and pricing, setting up displays, doing cash 
    • Receptionist:  answering the phone, greeting folks who come to the office,  working on the computer  
    • Board members: People who bring their skills and caring to help maintain or improve our organization.
    • Pick up and delivery person to pick up donations for the thrift store and deliver re-donations.  

Donate

All donations are appreciated and are used to help maintain or improve the services we offer to our clients. Tax receipts are available to donors.
